Online Shopping Scams: Stay Alert

Online shopping scams are becoming more common as more people shop from home. Scammers often create fake websites or social media ads offering popular products at very low prices to lure buyers. Once payment is made, the product either never arrives or is completely different from what was advertised.

These scams can look very convincing. Fake stores may use stolen images, copied logos, and even fake customer reviews to appear trustworthy. Some even provide tracking numbers that don’t work or delay responses to complaints until it’s too late to get a refund.
